Formula Renault 3.5 Champion Robin Frijns will test for both Red Bull and Sauber at the Young Driver test in Abu Dhabi later this season.
It was announced last week that Frijns would test for Sauber in Abu Dhabi. He will test for them on the first day of the test in November before handing over to Sauber’s reserve driver Esteban Gutierrez for the final two days. Gutierrez is hotly tipped to have a race seat at Sauber next season.
Following his championship Frijns will also test for Red Bull during the three day test as a reward for finishing as the highest placed driver who is not contracted to a rival F1 team. Frijns will take over the Red Bull car from Red Bull junior driver Antonio Felix da Costa for the final day of testing,
The 21-year-old doesn’t currently offer any sponsorship for any potential team and will be looking to use the test to get himself noticed. However without any money behind him he may struggle to find a seat on the 2013 grid so the best he can hope for is to make a big enough impression for the future.
