Kobayashi gives up on 2013
Kamui Kobayashi has admitted he has no chance of securing a seat for the 2013 season.
The Japanese driver was left without a seat after his 2012 team Sauber announced Nico Hulkenberg and Esteban Gutierrez as their driver line up.
Kobayashi set up a website in an attempt to raise funds for a seat in 2013, however despite raising 8 million euros he wrote on his website that the funds were not enough to secure a race seat.
Kobayashi, who finished 12th in the drivers standings with 60 points, will now turn his attention to 2014.
Gillan leaves Williams
Williams chief operations engineer Mark Gillan is to leave the team to spend more time with his family.
Gillan is credited as one of the main people behind Williams’s 2012 form that saw them win the Spanish Grand Prix.
Before Pastor Maldonado’s win in Barcelona Williams had not won a Grand Prix since 2004.
Williams did not comment on who would be replacing Gillan.
