News round-up: Red Bull announce launch date and 2013 Williams won’t have stepped nose

Red Bull announce launch date

Red Bull will reveal its new RB9 on Sunday 3 February it was announced on Thursday.

The teams new chassis will be unveiled during a presentation at its Milton Keynes factory.

The 2013 Drivers and Constructors World Champions announced the launch date via its twitter account and becomes the fourth team to announce its launch date.

McLaren will launch its car first on 31 January, followed by Force India and Sauber. Ferrari will unveil their car in February but no date has been confirmed.

2013 Williams won’t have stepped nose

Williams’ new driver Valtteri Bottas had revealed that the 2013 car will not have a stepped nose as many of the 2012 cars did.

When the 2012 FIA regulations allowed for a height difference between the chassis height and nose height many teams opted for a stepped nose.

New 2013 technical regulations have seen a modesty panel be created in an attempt to improve the appearance of the cars.

Bottas joins Williams after taking part in 15 FP1 practices for the team in 2012 and he will partner Pastor Maldonado.
