The FIA names new doctor

The FIA has announced that Dr Ian Roberts will replace Dr Gary Hartstein as the new F1 doctor for the 2013 season.

Roberts will respond to on-track incidents and supervise the local medical team at each Grand Prix.

Roberts has served as the Chief Medical Officer at Silverstone and sits on the FIA Institute and UK’s Motor Sports Association medical advisory panels.

Hartstein’s contract was not renewed at the end of the 2012 season. He had worked as F1s doctor since 2005.
