Wolff to get increased role at Williams

Susie Wolff is to expand her role as development driver for Williams in the 2013 season it was announced on Monday.

Williams revealed that Wolff would be conducting most of the teams aerodynamic tests as well as taking part in a larger simulator program.

The former DTM driver joined Williams in 2012 and completed a Formula 1 test at Silverstone in October 2012.

German Grand Prix in doubt

The future of the German Grand Prix is in doubt after Bernie Ecclestone revealed on Monday that he had ended negotiations with the Nurburgring for 2013.

The Nurburgring was intended to host the 2013 race as part of the alternation plan with the Hockenheim circuit, however financial issues have left the venue unable to guarantee a race.

Despite weeks of talks to reach a deal Ecclestone has suggested that a deal may be unlikely to happen.

A Grand Prix in German could now depend on Ecclestone being able to arrange a deal with Hockenheim.

If Germany does not hold a race the 2013 season could feature just 18 races with plans for a 20th race yet to materialise.
