Scorpion Racing bid too late for 2013
Bernie Ecclestone has played down the suggestion that a HRT takeover by Scorpion Racing would gain 2013 entry.
Ecclestone said that the planned takeover had come too late as the registration cut-off had already passed.
The takeover of HRT is planned by a group of American and Canadian investors who are attempting to purchase cars and equipment which had been used by HRT in 2012.
Ecclestone suggested that Scorpion Racing would be better to enter Formula 1 in 2014. The proposed team would not take up HRTs former Madrid base but would instead base its team in Silverstone.
